6th Annual Books & BBQ Recap

Black Business Feature, Empowerment, Inspiration, Review
On Saturday, August 17, 2019, I had the opportunity and privilege to support and volunteer at the sixth annual Books & BBQ in Edmondson Village. To describe the feeling in one word-AMAZING! I was invited to attend and share some of my resources by Shelley of Shelley's Helping Hands and the Our Children Need Their Dads Moment. Now that I've attended my first Books & BBQ event, I plan to attend and support each one in the future. So, what is Books & BBQ? From Shelley Stephens: On January 24, 1989, Mayor Kurt Schmoke unveiled "The City That Reads" as Baltimore's new official slogan. We're bringing That slogan Back!! Music Moves Me

Music Moves Me

Inspiration
A little bit about me-I LOVE music. Like LOVE LOVE music. It is a part of my daily routine. It is my go-to no matter what I'm feeling, thinking, or going through. I regularly choose soundtracks for the point of my life that I'm in. Genres I listen to include gospel, hip hop, and r&b. National Book Lovers Day

Book Lovers
Today, August 9th is National Book Lovers Day! National Book Lovers Day sounds just like the name. It’s a day to celebrate books and promote a love of one of my favorite things-reading books! “Books are the purest form of escapism. They can take you to any time, place, or culture. In honor of National Book Lovers Day August 9th, we put away our smartphones, pull out a good book, and simply read. (Well, an audiobook will suffice too.) From clay tablets to today’s eBooks, literature has played a crucial role in preserving cultures, educating the masses, and storytelling.” - https://nationaltoday.com/national-book-lovers-day/ Although I love printed books, one of my favorite things right now are ebooks. I typically order books through Amazon to download to my Kindle app or borrow them from my local library…

My 3 Day Cleanse

My 3 Day Cleanse

Review, Support Black Business
Disclaimer: I am not a doctor, nutritionist, personal trainer, or any other medical professional. This is MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE with a juice cleanse that worked for ME. Consult your doctor before beginning any new program/activity. I recently lost weight and was looking for a way to sort of jump-start the next phase. I worked really hard during the school year, and when summer break began, I got kind of loosey-goosey with the eating. Luckily, I didn’t go too overboard and decided after a month to get back on track. I had seen a few friends online post about a local juicing company and decided to follow them to get ideas. After seeing their content, menus, and options for a cleanse, I decided to reach out and ask a few questions.…
