International Women’s Day: Meet The Diamond Writers

Black Excellence, Book Lovers, Empower & Inspire
Happy International Women's Day! On this women's day, I want to tell you about a group I joined at the start of the pandemic that has grown tremendously since our initial Zoom call. Meet the Diamond Writers We were founded by Queen Pen herself, Natima Sheree. From the site:"The Diamond Writers (A Transparent Gem Inc. company) is a women-only space dedicated to promoting and supporting women writers, literary influencers, bloggers, and content creators. We are a sisterhood, a non-competitive safe place, and a repository for the creative works of female storytellers, authors, and literary influencers." Last March, we released our first anthology, Pretty Broken, where ten of us bore our soul and told stories of trauma and healing. In April 2022, the group has expanded and is set to release…

I’m Grateful For My HBCU

I’m Grateful For My HBCU

Black Excellence
I have seen more appreciation for historically black universities and colleges on social media because of our new vice-president-elect, Kamala Harris. If you're new here, I am a proud HBCU alumnus. In 2006 I graduated from the National Treasure, Morgan State University. I am so grateful for not only the education I received at Morgan, but the family and friends I've gained, the experiences I had, and how I grew as a person. To check out why I only applied at Morgan, check out my previous blog post- Why I Only Applied To Morgan State. To get a small glimpse of my experience, check out my post, where I share some photos of my experiences- I'm So Glad I Went To Morgan State.

First of May

Black Excellence, Empower & Inspire
Happy May 1! It's been a while since I've posted on the blog outside of my birthday post. Everything going on in the world had me re-evaluating and re-planning things as I'm sure it has for you, too. To get back in the swing of posting, I've decided that one of my May goals is to post on the blog for thirty-one days straight. There isn't an official challenge. I searched for and created some topics for May that speak for my brand and me as a person, overall. May's post begins with me checking in and posting a few recent pictures. The pictures in the title were taken about a week ago on Snapchat. I've changed my hair since then; I'll share later lol :-) Since we've been in…
