The other day I saw a question in one of the Facebook groups I follow. When I saw it I immediately responded with some advice that I would tell one of my young sisters. I then sent it to a group of my good girlfriends to get their thoughts. I'm one of the those blessed women who has a tribe of beautiful and successful sister friends who hype each other in all that we do. My girls are intelligent and they keep it real. Based on the conversations we've had with each other and the different things we've experienced, collectively and individually, over the years I knew they would have some sound advice. As I prepare to celebrate my birthday this weekend, I sit and reflect on the many things I’ve experienced and learned. Life has thrown me so many curve balls. Some I saw coming and prepared for as best as possible, some I saw coming but didn’t prepare for very well, and some that came so hard and blindsiding that it took forever and a day to recover. I like many people discovered the bigger than life personality, Cardi B, on the sixth season of my guilty pleasure, Love and Hip Hop New York. When she first appeared I thought oh my goodness, she’s loud and hilarious! Where has she been all this time? As episodes went on I, like many others, absolutely fell in love.
