I Get To Workout!

We’re in the middle of a pandemic. We’re social distancing, some are out of work and income, and it’s a stressful time for all.

I’m not taking away from those things. But sitting around and worrying 24/7 won’t make the situation better. Why not put this time to good use?

One way you can do that is by working out at home. I’m not a doctor, but I’ve lived long enough to learn the benefits exercise has on my body, but here’s what the experts say: 10 Benefits of Exercise.

So, how can you look at exercise as an opportunity? I’ll tell you.

Many people in this world don’t have the opportunity to move around. They may have broken bones, weak from health treatments, stuck in a hospital bed, or lost the ability to move around because when they could move around, they didn’t think of their mobility as a luxury, a benefit to their lives- they took it for granted.

Don’t let that be you.

Being home doesn’t mean you’ve lost the ability to exercise; it means you can get creative. If you have home gym equipment, use it.

Youtube has a variety of workout videos for all levels. A favorite of mine is here – Family Exercise.

It’s an easy fifteen-minute workout for the family and is an excellent start to our morning.

Many professionals are offering free and paid virtual sessions online.

If you’re comfortable being outside, put in your headphones and take a thirty-minute walk or jog.

You could also do something as simple as walking in place or walk around your home, listening to music, or watching your favorite television show.

Whatever you do, keep moving. Think of working out as a privilege and be grateful you are one of those people who still have the privilege.
