Happy Valentine’s Day to all of the lovers out there today.
Whether your single or not today, I’m talking to you.
If you don’t celebrate Valentine’s day for whatever reason, that’s okay too, and I hope you have a fantastic day.
But here’s the thing if you don’t celebrate, whether single or not, there’s no need to down others for what they choose to do in their lives.
Oxford Dictionaries defines self-love as regard for one’s well-being and happiness.
To me, this means you’re secure enough in yourself where you don’t have to put others down for the harmless things they choose to do in their lives. You’re more concerned with your happiness and, in turn, seeing other people happy. And if celebrating Valentine’s day make others happy, then so be it.
To me, it also means knowing how to celebrate and treat yourself, whether in a relationship or not. If you want to celebrate this day of love, you still can. Connect with your single friends and cook or order food takeout. Watch movies, play games, do crafts-whatever makes you happy. One of my favorite Valentine’s day as a single lady was the party I threw years ago for all of my single friends. That one was one for the books. You can do this by yourself, too, if that’s what you’re thing.
Whatever you choose to do today, I hope it makes you happy.
