Life Is About Choices

This may be a hard pill to swallow, but your life is a result of the choices you make.

This may be a hard pill to swallow, but your life is a result of the choices you make.

I know some things have happened to you. It wasn’t your fault. They did it. If they hadn’t done this, you wouldn’t have done that. If they had done this, you could have done that.

You didn’t have a choice, right?

My mother used to have a funny saying when I would tell her, “you have to take care of me or do this or do that.” When I would say that to her, she would reply with, “All I have to do is stay black and die.”

I would laugh every time she said it as if it was my first time hearing it. When I became an adult, I realized just how true her statement was.

I shared what my mother said to me with friends a few days ago and was met with you have to pay taxes, and everyone chuckled.

But the truth is even paying taxes is a choice. Now, if you choose not to pay taxes, you will have to pay penalties and, in some cases, also do jail time, but even that is a choice you’re making.

Yes, the law says I was my mother’s responsibility as a minor, but she chose to do that, and she did a phenomenal job might I add.

We would live much happier lives if we realized just how much power we hold.

You have the power to change things you don’t like.
If you don’t like your job- make a choice to find another one.

If you’re not happy in your relationship-make the choice to help fix it or leave.

If you’re not happy with your health, make a choice to change it.

I know it’s not as simple as it sounds, but you do have a choice.

The reality is you have a choice in your life.

You can choose to stay miserable and complain. You can let fear hold you back, or you can take one step at a time and begin to see results.

Some things won’t happen overnight, and that’s okay, but it’s your choice to begin making the changes.

The results you see now are all based on the choices you’ve made.

What choice will you make today to live the life you’ve always wanted?
