The Day I Became A Mother

Friday, October 7, 2011, is the day my life changed forever.

That’s the day I became a mother to the most beautiful baby I had ever seen. It’s been the most amazing journey for the last eight years.

My now eight-year-old son is so compassionate, intelligent, funny, and an all-around excellent human being. I’m not just saying that because I’m biased (LOL), but it’s the truth.

The day I became his mother was the day I stopped putting my wants and needs first. It was the day someone other than myself became the top priority. I traded nights of hanging out with friends for hanging out and watching cartoons. Date nights became family nights. I finally understood the saying my heart walking around outside of my body.

My little love, as I often to refer to him, changed me for the better. It hasn’t been a perfect ride, but it’s been just right for our family.

Happy Birthday to my baby, D3!
